How Can We Make the World a Better Place? - A Podcast

                                           What Is a Podcast?



Hola mis amigos! Hope you are all doing fine 💗

Today, I want to share some brief information about podcasts. Actually, a podcast is a digital form of audio media that we listen and get information in our daily life. We can comment on it, we can subscribe to its creator's account to stay tuned.  The word 'Podcast' comes from the combination of ipod and broadcasting. If you want to create a podcast, you can follow the steps I followed in this process. So, let's take a look at my journey!




My Experience

      In our Instructional Technologies and Material Design course, our teacher asked us to create a podcast. She gave us three options.

The first one was creating a vox-pop. The second one was coming up with an inspiring idea to improve the world, and the last option was creating a sound-rich story. I preferred to come up with an idea to improve the world. In this task, the topic that I was going to choose was up to me. So, I thought about it carefully, and it was a bit hard to find a great idea. So, I considered different parts of the life, and the importance of education came to my mind. After deciding on the topic, I recorded my voice for one minute by using Vocaroo.

       Thanks to this course, I understood that I can hear my students' voices by making them create a podcast. In this way, I can assess their performance and pronunciation. I can hear all the voices in the class including those who are shy and passive in terms of attending the course actively. Also, if there is not well-written story that meets the needs of my students and it is not appropriate for their levels, then I can create my own story by creating a podcast. It enables students to listen to themselves as well. I mean it is very helpful to language learners. As you can see, it has so many benefits in terms of language learning ✔️

One disadvantage of creating a podcast is that it can be a difficult process for students when the teacher doesn’t provide clear limits or guidance options on topic selection.
